    Inspired by a parrot I saw at a magic show! Parrots have multicolored wings and I wanted to capture that. My partner says it looks like lungs. What do you think?

    When I was 16, I was obsessed with the movie Crazy/Beautiful. In a way, I never grew out of it. I made this when I was coping with rapid bipolar cycling.

    A bipolar friend once told me that we are like hothouse flowers and need a special environment to survive. I have found that to be true but I have yet to find that environment. Any ideas?

    This painting is about exhaustion and minimalism. A desire to purge, to stop buying things, wanting things and then needing more things when those don’t make me happy. The pure joy of getting rid of things. Simplicity as a cleanse. My partner’s anniversary present a few years ago.
